The Economics of the Olympics in Greece 

New Student Global Connection

New Student Global Connection programs are available to incoming WVU first-year students the summer prior to their first fall semester. These programs, led by WVU faculty, include an in-person orientation in Morgantown prior to group travel, and offer a chance for students to become acquainted with their college and meet faculty and University leaders.

This program will allow incoming new students interested in pursuing a major from the Chambers College of Business and Economics to learn about international business, how sport and the Olympics has impacted Greece's economy and tourist industry. Students will spend two days in Morgantown completing pre-trip coursework and getting an introduction to the Chambers College of Business and Economics before departing to Greece.

July 14 - 15 | Morgantown Orientation
Welcome Dinner, Olympic Lecture, Outdoor Ropes Course, BBQ with Chambers College leaders.

July 16 | Departure
Group departs from Morgantown to Pittsburgh International Airport. Group flight to Athens, Greece.

July 17 - 20 | Athens
Welcome Dinner, Athens City Tour, Greek Food Market Tour, Panathenaic Stadium, Meet with OIympic Authority, Acropolis, Greek economics expert, U.S. Embassy in Athens, National Archaeological Museum.

July 21 - 23 | Heraklion
Heraklion City Walking Tour, Olive Oil Mill, Palace of Knossos, Arina Beach, Snorkeling

July 24 | Return Home
Return to Pittsburgh (or other home airport) via Athens. Group travel available back to Morgantown for those interested.
